Dreadfully Dreary

Oh, rain you are dreadfully dreary.
I long for springy days when flowers do not drown.
I've grown tired of your sullen games.
They frighten me in a saddening way.
Sigh.
Forlorn.

You make me dizzy.
What? Rain makes you dizzy? Forget it. Shake it off.
Lua, are you mocking me? Of course you are! Stinking wet puppy.
Ever have those days when you feel like your clothes are smushing you? I have those a lot. I’m having one right now. At the end of the day everything seems too tight, suffocating. My turtleneck, bra, jeans, socks, the whole thing. Even though everything fits me very well.
I guess my body is saying, it’s the end of the day and it’s time to put on loose fitted, stretchy clothing, and breath. Ah. (Ah, not Ah!)
Necklace is from jessjamesjake on Etsy. Gold Toned. Art Deco. Personally, I'm a fan.

Rain & Boots

Not much today. Fairly normal work day. A lot of rain on the east coast.
Rain means I get to wear my Hunter rain boots to work. That’s a good thing. They are so comfortable. They are probably one of the best investments, clothing wise, I’ve made since moving to the city. I really hadn’t considered rain boots necessary before.
So what it’s raining? From the car, run to the door. From the door, run to the car. Easy.
I hadn’t thought about all the walking in the rain that I would be doing in a big city. Let alone all the walking Lua in the rain. And that’s unavoidable. When she has to go, she has to go.
Conveniently, when I lived in DC Kev was around on rainy days to walk Lua. Hm, figure that.
One particular day he took Lua out for a nice sunny walk while I was making our gourmet dinner. Less than ten minutes later Kev returned soaking wet, out of breath, and with a cell phone carcass. A thunderstorm had broken out when he was too far away to make it back in time. And his phone was murdered by rain! Evil rain. Sorry Kev!
Regardless of all that, the Hunter's are great. They save my feet from the fate Kev’s phone suffered, well not exactly, but from being mushy at least. And green being my favorite color, these were the obvious choice. Somehow I think these count as a neutral.
What’s your favorite rainy day attire?

Rain for the day means dark indoor photos. Still trying to figure this whole place out.

Tea & Boredom

This blog is the bane of my existence. Who knew it would be this hard?
It was a nice lazy, cold, gray, occasionally rainy Sunday in New York and it gave me the perfect reason to keep working on this. I can’t figure out HTML. Believe me I tried. I had to walk away for 3 hours when the format I had been working on all day simply decided it was time to relieve itself of it’s duties. It deleted, and reverted to some layout I’d never seen before.
I don’t have the money I’d like to buy all the programs I would need to get this place looking the way I want it to. I’m having a lot of trouble sitting here and typing away when I’m looking at something that is an unfinished product. I’m a bit of a perfectionist but I’m trying to tell myself to work through it and just post. Hence, the boredom of this post. And the boredom on Lua’s face today. Working on my computer skills and bad weather means alot of indoor time for Lua.

The chamomile and lavender tea did its job well. It helped cool me off.
Hope you all had a productive Sunday. Wait, I’ll be more specific. I hope you both, Kev and Sarah, had a productive, dynamic, vibrant, hopscotching, Sunday!
